Nano Art
Below are a few electron micrographs generated using a Scanning Electron Microscope. Some are images of different samples while others are images of structures I created using a Focused Ion Beam. Some of the images have been colorized with GIMP.
Looks like anger doesn't scale with length. This is an SEM image of a piece of dirt that I colorized. |
Colorized image of a metal coated nanopore |
Another failed experiment, another cool SEM image |
Saw this on one of my nanopore chips, didn't make me happy. |
Mario the Drexel Dragon |
This is one of the first images I took with the FIB, back when I was still being trained. |
Tomogram of a 150 nm nanopore |
Cross section of a partially shrunk nanopore |
Made this with the FIB. |
Copper electrodes..., meet high voltage. |
Section of a beetle's hind wing. |
Should have rinsed the membranes in water before imaging them. |
Nano potholes. This surface wouldn't be fun to drive on. |
Another image of an insect wing. |
Reminds me of spaghetti. |
I have no idea what this is, or how it got here. |

Very creative. Who would have thought that you could colorize a nanopore into an angry bird!
